LISTEN: The Chemical Brothers Releases New Song “C-h-e-m-i-c-a-l”

According to PITCHFORK, The Chemical Brothers have released a new song titled “C-h-e-m-i-c-a-l.” It serves as a follow up to last year’s album Born in the Echoes. It also serves as a follow up to last months announcement that they would be releasing a re-issue of pre-2015 albums on limited-edition colored vinyl on December 9th just in time for the days leading up to Christmas.

If you have ever listened to a song from the electronic music genre, then you know what to expect. For those who are not very familiar with the genre, electronic music is filled with vibes that can keep a dance floor active all night. A departure from other forms of music through its, at times, lack of lyrics. For example, in their new song, The Chemical Brothers start off the song by spelling out the word chemical which explains why the title of the song is spelled the way it is. The rest of the song is a non-stop ride with sounds that could fill up a EDM (electronic dance music) festival.

This year, The Chemical Brothers have been active in the music scene with the release of the video “Wide Open”, which features Beck on the vocal and also can be found on their 2015  album “Born in the Echoes.

Recently, Pink Floyd’s Roger Waters condemned The Chemical Brothers in a letter for their choice of performing at a concert in Tel Aviv.

“Tel Aviv’s hipster vibe is a bubble on the surface of a very deep security state that drove out half the indigenous Palestinian population in 1948 and has no intention of letting their descendants back in,” the letter reads. “If you go to Tel Aviv, your presence will be used by the Israeli authorities to reassure their citizens that all’s right with the world and nobody really cares that the Palestinians are suffering… Please don’t go.”
