Punk/goth legends The Damned are turning 40 this year, and they’re celebrating the anniversary with a massive US tour that will surely please the hardcore fans. Last night The Damned brought their mix of Goth and Punk music to the Belasco Theater in Downtown L.A.

The band was in top form playing classic tracks such as “Neat Neat Neat”, “Fan Club”, and of course the classic track “New Rose.” One of the highlights was when the band played their cover of Arthur Lee’s ‘love’ song “Alone Again Or” with a trumpet player on stage.

The band helped spearhead the UK Punk movement along with bands such as the Sex Pistols, The Jam, and The Clash. It’s quite a surprise knowing they survived all the madness and turmoil that usually accompanies punk bands from the ’70s.

The band’s hugely influential classic debut single, “New Rose,” is being celebrated with a limited edition 7” anniversary release. Featuring original artwork, a picture disc and exclusive fold out poster, it’s a must have vinyl release from one of the most influential punk bands of all time. Release is set for November 4th via BMG

Mauricio Alvarado: I've been a concert photographer for the past 5 years. My work has been featured on various music magazines and websites. Some of the bands I've photographed are Yes, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Slayer, Rob Zombie, Santana, and many more. I'm obsessed with 70's Progressive Rock music. I enjoy photographing bands that I grew up listening to. I'm also a big vinyl record collector since I was in High School. I always enjoy taking my albums to shows and getting them signed by the bands.
