Apple has confirmed that the release of the AirPods will be postponed past their original October due date. These revolutionary wireless earbuds were inspired primarily by the absence of the headphone jack on the latest iPhone 7 model. Apple announced the eventual release of AirPods back in September to alleviate the controversy around the drastic change in design, but with the now ambiguously non-existent release date they are really testing Apple users’ patience. According to an Apple spokesperson, “We don’t believe in shipping a product before it’s ready, and we need a little more time before AirPods are ready for our customers”.
AirPods are available for pre-order on Apple’s website, running at $159.99. They offer a multitude of efficiently futuristic features, including an Apple W1 chip that ensures a consistent and reliable wireless connection, sensors that recognize when the earbuds are in or out of your ears and power on and off accordingly, the ability to switch effortlessly between various devices, a background noise-reducing microphone and superior sound quality. One charge equates to 5 hours of power, and they come equipped with a charger housing that supplies them with up to 24 hours of power total.
