After recently announcing a new studio album, Jessica Rabbit, Sleigh Bells shared a new song “I Can Only Stare.” Today the video for the song has emerged via Dazed. In the video sing Alexis Krauss plays “three doomed women” who are navigating their way through sticky situations. The video cuts to various clips of the different women groveling in pain over their woes. At the end of the video the clip of a banner reads “Keep Faith.”
The clip is directed by Alex Ross Perry in collaboration with the band’s Derek Miller. In a recent interview with Zane Lowe, the guitarist Miller of Sleigh Bells said that “I Can Only Stare” is his favorite song on the new record. Their love of the Smiths helped to partially inspire the song. Since the band’s last album, Bitter Rivals, in 2013, Jessica Rabbit will be the newest record to be released on November 11th.
The band announced the release of Jessica Rabbit back in late August after releasing two songs from the record, “Rule Number One” and then “Hyper Dark.” Plus, they announced a Fall 2016 tour. Topping off the big year, the band took on pop heavyweight Demi Lovato, suing her for copyright infringement.
