Post-rock trio from England, Esben and The Witch, are returning again with a brand new album entitled Older Terrors, which follows their most recent A New Nature LP in 2014. The Germany based band revealed that the album will be hitting the public on November 4th, and could not be more excited for the work they put into this album.
Band members, Rachel Davies (Vocals, Bass), Thomas Fischer (Guitar), and Daniel Copeman (Drums, Synths) came together in 2008 to form the group, releasing their first self-released album 33 EP, and following it up with their single “Lucia, at the Precipice” in 2010. They debuted their full-length, gothic post-rock nightmare LP Violet Cries in 2011 and managed to climb up the charts to #13 on UK Indie Chart. Esben and The Witch have established themselves as a highly unique act with an excellent reputation for a phenomenal live performance.
The band has become masters of their sound, and have honed their songwriting skills to a sharp edge that manifests itself in the new work, Older Terrors reveals beauty, terror, emotions, and intense musical depth that will capture their audience with a auditory adventure. Commenting on their newest work, they said “For centuries the snake has captured our collective imagination. Our deepest fears, our darkest sins, immortalized. This is our serpent song, a talisman and the third chapter taken from Older Terrors. We wanted the music to envelop the listener, a trance like journey from the soothing to the savage. A charm for the snake we all wrestle with, to coax and calm and find out where its open jaws lead.”
