A common household name, Common has just made headlines with new material. Soon to be released, his new album Black America Again comes out on very monumental day. This day is November 4th and the Election Day of America. His last album was Nobody’s Smiling from 2014 and one of his double digit number of albums. Just early this month Common performed for NPR’s famous Tiny Desk Concert series at the White House and now his album is to be released just weeks later; the closing months of 2016 are and will be big ones for the established rapper and artist.

Common’s new album has fifteen track and features the likes of many artists. Specifically, Bilal, Stevie Wonder, Marsha Ambrosius, Syd & Elena, PJ, John Legend, BJ the Chicago Kid, and Tasha Cobbs are all featured and make for an exciting new record. The seventh track of Black America Again is titled “Red Wine” and it has recently been released. Nearly as easy flowing and smooth as the drink, “Red Wine” consists of female vocals from Syd & Elena that follow the bass beat in perfect time, creating an easy listen from the start. With a blend of rhythm and blues and creative hip-hop, “Red Wine” enlists a beat that is equally catchy as it is eloquent in speech. Common lays down his vocals after the melodic intro and his rhymes are anything but lacking. With inter-syllable rhyming and even the use of another language aside from English in his scheme, the track holds unique qualities that support the buzz of the pending release of the new album. Listen to “Red Wine” below and see the track listing of the new album…
