LISTEN: CRX Release New Song “Broken Bones”

At noon and half ET on Thursday, October 20st CRX premiered their latest song “Broken Bones”, off their forthcoming album New Skin.
The album is due in full October 28th, but the band gave us a flavorful taste with this pre-released track.

“Broken Bones” opens with some powerful guitar riffs with roots running deep in the soil of classic rock, but in comes Valensi’s futuristic-sounding vocals to balance the clock and bring us back to present time. The lyrics were inspired by a motorcycle accident that landed the frontman in a hospital bed for two weeks, hence verses like “Leaving the house was a mistake… I don’t know if I dare…” and the repetition of the title itself throughout.

This side project conceived by the Strokes’ guitarist consists of himself on the mic and guitar, Richie Follin on keyboard and back-up vocals, Darian Zahedi on the guitarist, Jon Zafley on bass, and Ralph Alexander on the drums. The soon-to-come album was recorded in Queens of the Stone Ages’ Josh Hommes Pink Duck studio.

The band is about to take off on a domestic tour beginning on November 7th at Larimer Lounge in Denver in support of New Skin, which is available for pre-order on iTunes, Google Play and Amazon Music.
