Metallica recently said they will release their 10th album, Hardwired…To Self-Destruct, on November 18th. Yesterday, the legendary rockers announced they will tour from October through early April in support of the impending release.
The group will kick of their tour at Mountain View, CA’s Shoreline Amphitheater, and will conclude their tour at Santiago, Chile’s Lollapalooza. They will play in 10 countries (counting Puerto Rico), and four continents (North America, South America, Europe, and Asia). Proceeds from their Mountain View show will go to the 30th Annual Bridge School Benefit.
Hardwired…To Self Destruct marks Metallica’s first album since 2008’s acclaimed Death Magnetic. They will release the album via their own label, Blackened Recordings.
Metallica have already issued two singles set to feature on the album, “Hardwired” and “Moth Into Flame”. The band premiered “Moth Into Flame” on The Howard Stern Show, and recently played “Hardwired” on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. They played both tracks at a September 27th charity concert at New York’s Webster Hall.
The album’s deluxe edition will include multiple bonus tracks, including an updated version of 2014 track “Lords of Summer” and covers of Iron Maiden’s “Remember Tomorrow” and Deep Purple’s “When A Blind Man Cries.” All tour dates are listed below.
