Blitzen Trapper’s Marty Marquis Releases New Album Skookum Sound

Blitzen Trapper guitarist Marty Marquis has released his first solo album titled Skookum Sound, which includes 11 tracks totaling up to 28 and half minutes and ranging in sound from psych-electronic, indie rock, and folk. The album is available for free listening and download on his Soundcloud.

Marty Marquis is a walking personification of his hometown of Portland, Oregon: artsy, multi-talented, and distinctly different. He’s known as “the red-headed guy from Blitzen Trapper”, but this album definitely has the potential to change that for good. He seems to embody all of the essential roles of a collective band all on his own; with his folk vocals, intricately beautiful indie-style guitar playing, and application of electronic effects, this album is truly diverse and original. Check it out below.
