The Drive-By Truckers are turning 20 this year and kicked off a tour led up to the release of their new studio Album, American Band, in late September. However, the Southern rockers decided they weren’t done yet and just announced they will be expanding their tour with a winter leg, which is coming to NYC in February.
The Drive-By Truckers will hit Webster Hall’s Grand Ballroom stage on Saturday, February 11th. The current Truckers lineup includes guitarist/vocalist Patterson Hood, guitarist Mike Cooley, Multi-instrumentalist Jay Gonzalez, drummer Brad Morgan, and bassist Matt Patton.
Anyone who has attended a Drive-By Truckers show before knows you never quite know that to expect. The guys rarely rehearse or plot out a setlist, and have 10 studio albums worth of material to choose from (plus a B-sides collection and several EPs). So far throughout this tour they have leaned heavily on songs from the new album, with classics, covers, and lesser known material always sprinkled in. You’ll also always be entertained by jokes and banter between songs that Patterson Hood has become known for.
