WATCH: Amber Coffman Releases New Video For “All To Myself”

The talented Amber Coffman, best known for her tenure as guitarist/vocalist with the Dirty Projectors, has self-directed a new music video for her song “All To Myself.” Coffman’s video comes as the first offering from her debut solo album, City Of No ReplyThe release date for the album has yet to be determined.

Coffman wrote and recorded the album after moving to Los Angeles in 2013. Her solo work is a point of intrigue. She’s gained some well-deserved attention as a vocalist, collaborating with a range of artists such as Frank Ocean, Snoop Dogg, Velvet Underground, Major Lazer, Rusko, and J.Cole. Now, she plans to showcase her abilities as a solo artist.

Her approach is graceful, seemingly effortless and entrancing. These musical qualities are made more apparent in her music video, with scenes of seaside strolls complementing her soothing voice. The video was shot by Jake Magee.

“It’s a song you can slow dance by yourself to without feeling funny if there’s no one else there. A small reminder not to spend too much time fretting and just to get out there, live your life and do what makes you happy,” said Coffman about the song. “For anyone who’s ever found themselves uncomfortably restless, sad and alone, or even temporarily doubting themselves and their dreams, this is a mantra, a pep talk, a love song to yourself.”

The video for “All To Myself” is the first look we have into Coffman’s solo work, with more to surely come in anticipation of the album’s rollout.
