Rock fans rejoice! Loudwire is reporting that Brian Johnson, lead singer of legendary rock n’ roll band AC/DC who tragically lost his hearing several years ago, could return to rock out on stage once again in as little as 6 months due to the newest hearing aid technology.

The world famous rock band has had a rough couple of years since losing their distinguished singer, with attempts to replace their lost voice with Axl Rose (Guns n’ Roses), but it just was not the same, there just seemed to be something missing. The group also just lost their bassist of 40+ years Cliff Williams, after announcing his retirement would come at the conclusion of the “Rock or Bust” tour.

This is not the end for this group of rock pioneers, good news has developed recently with Brian Johnson, who teamed up with Stephen Ambrose of Asius Technologies earlier this year to test out a new piece of equipment designed by the engineer. The duo’s goal was to reduce the negative impact of the band’s high volume output at shows that blast into the singer’s ear in order to bring his voice back to normal. Johnson approved of the technology and Ambrose has given even better news along with the approval, stating “I wouldn’t be surprised if we have something that Brian, and other people, can use to return to the stage without any threat of damage to his hearing within the next six to 12 months,” Ambrose said. He added, “I will endeavor to kick up the development of the technology another 10 notches, at which point I expect to get the green light from Brian’s doctors to test the prototype with him. We need to know he can test it without further damaging his hearing. And I expect those tests will go very successfully.”

This technology will not be limited to the rock n’ roll star, Ambrose intends to use this technology for all those who struggle with similar issues around the globe, explaining  “Having Brian Johnson involved has helped us get the support of a lot of major companies – support that wouldn’t have been there without him.”

With a timetable of 6-12 months until Johnson’s return, AC/DC continues to tour with Rose as their lead singer, but how will he fair with the fans that are so used to their old classic vocal sounds? the upcoming tour will showcase what the new sound will be like.
