Since 1966, Peter Blankfield, more commonly known as Peter Wolf, has been making the most feel-good soulful rock ‘n’ roll around. With his beginnings in the J. Geils band, tons of collaborations with all different kinds of artists, and a bunch of solo work, Peter Wolf has become a well-rounded musician over the years.
If you dig the contagious rhythms from 60s and 70s rock music, Peter Wolf & the Midnight Travelers should be right up your alley. There are plenty of musical interludes throughout each song, even when collaborating with rappers, Peter makes sure to put a complimentary, soft guitar riff within the layers of the music.
With lyrics that are intensely relatable and emotional, it’s hard not to enjoy his music. His early work in the J. Geils band was based more in the blues than his eventual solo work, but from the easy transfer between genres and different styles, it is clear to see Peter Wolf has a knack for striking a chord no matter what. Not to mention, him and his incredibly talented band have secured two gigs in a row in the Chicagoland area, so it’s possible to get two nights in a row of their great music.
