Lollapalooza South America has just announced the lineup for next year’s run, and their headliners include the Weeknd, Metallica, The Strokes, as well as a group that has been on hiatus for the last three years. Critically acclaimed English minimalist indie outfit the xx is returning to the live circuit since their last performance in 2014 where they played at New York’s Guggenheim museum.

Outside of the band, individual members have been making their mark as separate musicians. Jamie xx made huge waves last year with his widely successful solo record In Colour, with group’s Romy Madley Croft lending some vocal work on the record. Romy was also named SPIN’s Producer of the Year in 2015.

The band announced that it is back in the studio, working on their followup to their sophomore LP Coexist last December.

Lollapalooza Brazil takes place from March 25-26. They’ll travel to Argentina to headline the festival the following weekend (March 31-April 1) and finish up dates later in Santiago, Chile from April 1-2. See more details of the festival lineups below.

The band will play alongside the Chainsmokers, Flume, Duran Duran, Cage the Elephant, Melanie Martinez and Tegan and Sara. Lollapalooza South America will have shows in Brazil from March 25-26 and Argentina from March 31 – April 1, before culminating in Santiago, Chile from April 1-2.

Whether the xx is playing just at the festival or if they will be embarking on a larger tour is not yet clear.
