Peter Doherty Announces New Album Hamburg Demonstrations for December 2016 Release

After much hard work Peter Doherty will release his new album, Hamburg Demonstrations via BMG/Clouds Hill on Friday December 2, 2016. The album is available for pre order right now with the first single “I Don’t Love Anyone (but You’re Not Just Anyone)” followed by “The Whole World Is Our Playground” that is available once you pre order.

The album was produced, recorded, and mixed by Johann Scheerer who is known for working with Faust, Bosnian Rainbows, Gallon Drunk, and Omar Rodriguez-Lopez. For the album, they recorded at Clouds Hill Recordings in Hamburg, Germany just using an 8 Track 2″ Studer A820 tape machine and mixed onto a 1/4″ Telefunken master machine.

Hamburg Demonstrations includes new recordings of the Amy Winehouse tribute “Flags Of The Old Regime” (now called “Flags From The Old Regime”). The album also features “Hell To Pay At The Gates of Heaven” that was written after the Paris attacks last November reflects that young people are now picking up guns instead of guitars. The track “Kolly Kibber” was inspired by Kolley Kibber, the newspaper man who meets a sticky end at the beginning “Brighton Rock.”

After always wanting to record in Hamburg, Germany he followed through for this album. He always wanted to record there because it’s where the Beatles learned their trade, and he wanted to follow through. So he showed up at Clouds Hills Recordings doorstep and instantly fell in love with the studio. For the next six months he stayed there to record the album which will be available on CD, 12″ Vinyl and digital download. This past year he started touring the UK in May and now will be touring Mexico, Chile, Brazil, and Argentina with the Libertines in October before continuing on his own for 8 shows in France.
