To bring in the holiday season with a hurrah, there’s no better concert to see than a swing band to usher in the mood of the season. Since this is their 23rd year as a band, it makes this show even more special to long-time fans. The eight members of this band provide a really interesting, and full sound for each audience they encounter.
Some may be surprised to find out that their roots are not in swing, but in punk and alt rock. When Scott Morris, co-founder of the band, was tired of those genres, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy was born. They’ve had great success, making many appearances at events like the Super Bowl half-time show and late night shows that attract tons of viewers.
If you love the sound of a symphony, you’ll love these guys. They present their tribute to traditional swing music in their own style. Besides, if you don’t already believe their cool, just know that Albert Collins gave them their name. There’s nothing cooler than that for lovers of old blues music.
