American hip-hop artist Jaime Meline, or better known by his stage name El-P, has announced that all the lyrics for RTJ3 have officially been recorded. Last mentioned, back in March, Run The Jewels (Killer Mike) had stated that releasing RTJ3 was “Achievable” for 2016, and according to Stereogum, it looks like it will move from being “Achievable” to actually being “likely” to hit he shelves this year.
El Producto sent out a tweet earlier today stating that all the lyrics for the album have been recorded, and that the LP is “almost finished”, which is fantastic news to hip-hop fans everywhere. 2014’s RTJ2 was such a powerful piece that spoke to that time period, coaxing out emotions and feeling for people who connected to the music. Since then fans have been counting down the days until the follow up album gets released, getting teases of small snippets from the duo’s upcoming work.
Even though both El-P and Killer Mike have successful solo catalogues, it seems that when the two of them come together there is a magical spark that creates some of the better hip-hop music than what is being offered out in the world right now.
With the lyrics laid out for them and recorded, all that is left is to mix it all together and perfect what we already can say will be a resonating piece of work, one that is highly anticipated and for sure touch upon the current state of the world around us. The release day just cannot come fast enough!
