Beach Vibes Fest, the three day festival set to play in Riviera Maya, Mexico, has been cancelled.
This event was organized by LCD Soundsystem, an American rock band from New York, and had featured many other artists such as Hot Chip and Run the Jewels. The announcement of the organization of the festival, that would have ran from January 27 – 29th of the coming year, had been announced during the month of June.
According to Brooklyn Vegan, an official statement has been released on the topic of the cancellation by the event organizers. It was said that the reason for the cancellation was that their view of how the festival would turn out wasn’t really matching what they had planned. They say the following:
“Beach Vibes, a destination event produced by CID Presents, has been canceled. The event was originally slated for January 27 – 29, 2017 in Riviera Maya, Mexico. The event was not coming together in the way that it was envisioned, and all parties have agreed that putting on an event that is less than 100% would be a disservice to the fans and bands alike. Therefore, canceling the weekend-long event is in the best interest of all involved.Fans who purchased all-inclusive packages will be refunded in full, including related airfare expenses, and will receive direct communication from CID Presents in the coming days.”
The band has also canceled their Asian and Australian tour dates due to their studio dates needed for the production of the new album. This new album will be the first, ever since the release of their 2010 album called This is Happening.
