Adrian Younge, a producer from Los Angeles, and Ali Shaheed from A Tribe Called Quest have recently announced a “Luke Cage Soundtrack” live concert.
Recently, the two have been collaborating to score tracks for the new Netflix series “Marvel’s Luke Cage” that will be streaming on September 30th.
The soundtrack will include features from Charles Bradley, a funk/R&B singer, Faith Evans, singer-songwriter and record producer, Jidenna, a recording artist and producer, and Raphael Saadiq, singer-songwriter and record producer. There has been confirmation that these artists will make some type of cameo on this event. The album itself will be out on October 7th.
According to Pitchfork, this live performance was arranged by Adrian and Ali and created with the help of others. The live concert will take place on October 6th at the Theatre at the Ace Hotel in Los Angeles, and will be hosted by comedians Russell Peters and Wayne Brady. The event will include a performance of the soundtrack with a 40 piece orchestra orchestrated by Miguel Atwood-Ferguson. There will also be a D.J sets by No I.D., also known Ernest Dion Wilson who is a hip hop and R&B music producer from Chicago. It has been said that there will be more surprises to come, such as more guest appearance, on the show.
