Gorillaz Accidentally Share Tour Plans On New Website

It has been a long time coming, and fans all over have been begging for this news to happen, and it finally has. After years of waiting, and hoping, it has finally been announced that British alternative rock legends The Gorillaz, are coming back with a brand new studio album. It has felt like forever since we have heard that name in the spotlight, and better yet with news of a new LP. The virtual band’s social media pages have been blowing up, with new pictures on their longtime inactive Facebook account of the band members together with the caption “We’re Back”, and videos being posted with links to their new website, it all seems to be ramping up towards something big.

It has been six years since they released their last studio album Plastic Beach, which was a huge commercial success, earning them Mxdwn’s #1 Album of the Year in 2010, and since then all every fan has been doing is waiting, patiently, eagerly, for their following work.

To make news even better, according to Stereogum, with all the activity that has been coming out of the band’s base, it seems there is some information that fans really had to dig for and managed to leak out to the public before the site was able to fix the issue. Via a reddit page, there seem to be on the newly relaunched site’s source code pages that include Merch, News, and most interestingly Live. The last option redirected you to a page that featured a large “LIVE” and a caption next to it reading “Band practice”, indicating that the band will finally be hitting the stage again to perform for their adoring fans.

Unfortunately it will not be until 2017 that we will be able to see or hear anything new from The Gorillaz, so it may be a little too soon to celebrate, however, with all this activity going on from their end, it seems like there is some hope that within a year we will be seeing the cartoon ensemble grace the stage with their unique performance once again. As for the new album, we can only keep re-listening to what has already been released and wait patiently for the upcoming new music, it may be hard, but most certainly will be worth the wait.
