WATCH: Sims Release New Video For “OneHundred”

Minneapolis rapper Sims has released a music video for his recent single “OneHundred”. The music video can be viewed below:

The track was produced by Lazerbeak, the premiere producer of Sims’ hip-hop collective Doomtree. In the song Sims celebrates himself and his successes, all while ignoring whatever views people might have on him. The video features a series of stylized pop-art imagery, including all gold everything, cats, balloons, rivers, and other abstract stuff over a VHS filter. In an interview with A.V. Club, Sims himself explains the composition of the music video,

“This is my first time having the good fortune to work with Otis N. Stanley— and WOW. Wow, wow, wow, meow. I first met these two well-groomed visionaries at Isaac Gale’s studio. I had been a fan for the past few years, they have been quietly knocking videos off the counter for a minute. Their ability to leap from the highest ledge, creatively, and somehow always land on their feet is inhuman; I had to work with them. But these are cats of few words, independent, aloof, they come to you when they’re ready. I’m glad they were. We set out with no real plan here, and at first I was a little nervous, but as soon as I saw them get purring, well.. They can do more with a ball of yarn and laser pointer than most people can do with a million dollars. Which is what made this million dollars so worth spending. This is a video for generations of human beings to enjoy. It’s very humbling to be a part of something you know will not only define your generation, but perhaps culture in general. Without further ado, please enjoy “OneHundred,” a film by Otis N. Stanley.”

Sims has recently announced a tour to coincide with his upcoming record More Than Ever. The tour dates can be viewed here.
