The Lumineers have recently released a new music video for the song “Angela/Patience,” a song that’s apart of the new album Cleopatra.
The music video was directed by Isaac Ravishankara, and is the third installment in a series that tells the story of Cleopatra in reverse-chronological order. In this video, Cleopatra is in her early 2os and pregnant. According to the press release, she is “presented with the duality of wanting to run and break free from obligations, yet being old enough to accept responsibility.”
The story continues from the previous video where Cleopatra takes off in the middle of the night and later awakens in a hotel room and sees her older self outside starting the taxi and leaving. From the video, there is a split between two story lines that show two different perspectives of a decision, one where she leaves her husband and runs away and one where she stays with him.
The music video for the song is shown below.
The band has already released the first video of the series called “Cleopatra“. The band is also currently on tour in order to support their new album. The band will make a stop in Cary, North Carolina and live stream the show in order to protest North Carolina’s HB2 law. The money they recieve from the show will be donated to the Human Rights Campaign and EqualityNC.
