Cold wave electronic act The Black Queen has announced its fall 2016 tour dates.
The band is comprised of Joshua Eustis (of Nine Inch Nails and Puscifer), Greg Puciato (of The Dillinger Escape Plan), and Steven Alexander (tech for Kesha, Nine Inch Nails, and The Dillinger Escape Plan).
The band recently made waves for its summer video release “Secret Scream”. The video is intense, raw sexuality told through a black and white muddled sequence of rapid fire images. The Nine Inch Nails influence is easily visible, as the sound is a twisted, dark take on retro R&B 80’s music. Speaking on this, Puciato said,
“There’s a really visual soundtrack element,” lead singer Greg Puciato said. “We talked a lot about the feel of ’80s sci-fi, as a metaphor, the sort of ‘used future’ thing where it sounds alien but also familiar and gives you nostalgia for a time you don’t quite remember ever exactly existing. The video isn’t meant to have a linear narrative, but to seem like more of an abstract memory. A smear filled with recollections of lust and terror, elation and dread. The middle of the song is a representation of that middle of the night intoxication with and fear of the void, the temptation of that and the feeling of being on the brink of the unknown.”
