Evanescence Announce Vinyl Box Set Featuring Studio Albums and Origin Demo

Hot off the announcement of their upcoming tour, American rock band Evanescence has announced a vinyl box set featuring all of their studio albums and a re-recording of Even In Death.

The band first became mainstream famous in the early 2000’s for a number of hit singles, especially “Bring Me Back to Life”, which was featured in the 2003 Daredevil soundtrack. Though the band itself cannot be classified as nu-metal, the band certainly rode the wave of successes of nu-metal and other edgier hard rock acts such as Korn, Linkin Park, and Slipknot. Ironically enough, the band was pressured by their label to include a male vocalist on the infamous rap verse on “Bring Me Back to Life”, as the studio did not think a solo female vocalist would be commercially viable in the rock scene. Fortunately for the band, female lead singer Amy Lee proved to be a hit success with her soulful, mournful voice. Looking at the “Bring Me Back to Life” music video is like looking through a wormhole into early 2000’s music videos. Take a look below:

Despite the waning popularity of nu-metal and hard rock in the mainstream American music scene as the 2000’s went on, the band released their 2011 album Evanescence to the top of the Billboard charts. And in spite of multiple lineup changes and management shakeups, the band maintains a dedicated fanbase whom they communicate with frequently on fan made message boards.
