A recently announced Cold Waves concert revealed that the ex members of Revolting Cocks have teamed up together without Al Jourgensen to form the new group known as The Cocks. These ex members are reuniting under the moniker The Cocks starting a very short tour through 6 US cities. The final stop will be at the Cold Waves V in Chicago in which Richard 23, Luc Van Acker, Chris Connelly, and Paul Barker will be taking the stage together as The Cocks to perform Big Sexy Land. Let’s not be confused with the other version of the Revolting Cocks with Al Jourgensen and replacement members of the group. Also Paul Barker was the only other official member of Ministry back in the day, but left in the early 2000’s and has not been involved in anything with Al Jourgensen since he departed.
Revolting Cocks was originally founded by Richard 23 and Luc Van Acker with Al Jourgensen. Back in 1985 their first release was “No Devotion” on Wax Trax Records which was quickly followed by an album Big Sexy Land (1986) with a mix of Wax Trax industrial hard rock. Richard 23 quit after the release of the album in 1986 due to creative differences, but joined the band on stage during the Wax Trax! Records Retrospectacle: 33 1/3 Year Anniversary. This was the last event that the group performed together with the line up of Richard 23, Luc Van Acker, Paul Barker, Chris Connelly, Duane Buford, Jamie Duffy, and Dan Brill.
Back in 2009, Al Jourgensen teamed up with Josh Bradford, Sin Quirin, and Clayton Worbeck to produce the most recent work from the Revolting Cocks album, Sex-O Olympic-O. This was the fifth album from the Revolting Cocks and was released through 13th Planet Records. The song “Wizard of Sextown” is best known for being featured in the horror film Saw V.
