The 7-inch contains two tracks, a previously unreleased Weezer track, “Fake Smiles and Nervous Laughter”, and a Wavves cover of Pinkerton era B-side “You Gave Your Love to Me Softly.” There is no set release date, but the 7-inch is available for presale September 12. Only 2,000 copies will be issued, 1,000 records in transparent blue and the other 1,000 being standard black.
Williams founded Ghost Ramp in 2008 as a music blog. Following the success of Wavves’ albums King of the Beach and Life Sux, Williams transitioned Ghost Ramp into a record label. In addition to his own band, Williams has signed artists including Antwon, Cloud Nothings, and Trash Talk to Ghost Ramp.
With Wavves, Williams has released six studio LP’s, including a collaborative LP (No Life For Me) with Cloud Nothings. Their last LP, 2015’s V, received general critical acclaim.
Weezer, meanwhile, released their most recent LP, the eponymous titled Weezer, in April. They are currently scheduled to play a single upcoming tour date, KMFA’s Fall Ball Music Festival in Tuscon, on October 16th.
