The groove-grass group who call themselves the Infamous Stringdusters have just announced the dates of their fall tour. It kicks off September 16th at the Higher Ground Ballroom in New Burlington, Vermont and makes its way all the way down to Mexico, with their final show being held at Strings & Sol in Qroo December 9-13.
This intricately improvisational group of musicians came together in 2007 with such a harmony that it is nearly impossible to resist moving and grooving to their traditional yet ahead-of-their-time sound. This tasty jam band is made from the following ingredients: Andy Hall on the Dobro, Andy Falco on the guitar, Chris Pandolfi on the banjo, Jeremy Garrett on the fiddle, and Travis Book on the double bass.
Since they came in and stole the scene beginning in 2007, this talented group of guys have produced seven full-length albums, including their most recent titled Ladies and Gentlemen, which dropped in early February of this year. Within their first year as a band, they were awarded three highly coveted awards at the International Bluegrass Association Awards Ceremony in 2007: Best Emerging Artist, Album of the Year, and Song of the Year. Their song “Magic No. 9” off the album Things That Fly was nominated for the Best Country Instrumental Grammy.
The Infamous Stringdusters have drifted right into some of the biggest bluegrass festival lineups and ended up playing upon sold-out stages with artists like Phil Lesh of the Grateful Dead, Ryan Adams of Whiskeytown, Nicki Bluhm of Nicki Bluhm and the Gramblers. They have headlined shows at the legendary Red Rock Amphitheater, and performed alongside other artists at festivals like Newport Folk Festival and Lockn’ Festival.
It’s clear to see that this group is just beginning their long road of musical stardom, and we can only hope they will keep trucking as long as they have gas in the tank.
Their upcoming fall tour is in support of their most recent album Ladies and Gentlemen, which features 12 original Stringdusters songs featuring musical guests Lee Ann Womack, Nicki Bluhm, Joss Stone and more.
