Long-time seminal electronic band Meat Beat Manifesto are finally returning after a six year hiatus since their 2010 Answers Come in Dreams album. The band is setting up for a small set of US tour dates, showcasing new material they have been working on in the shadows.
The band looks to headline Chicago’s Cold Waves Festival on September 23rd, setting their sites on Dallas next on September 30th, then stopping in Houston on October 1st before ending the tour in San Francisco on October 21st.
It been forever since MBM’s mind-blowing live performances have hit the stage, where visual components are combined with a sonic electronic assault to the ears that stun audiences with crazy, often political video mash-ups, and with the current race for the White House in full heat, masterminds Jack Dangers and partner-in-crime Ben Stokes will undoubtedly be provocatively added to their show, with video samples of news reports and found footage.
Over their 29 year history, MBM has consistently pushed the envelope as far as electronic experimentation goes, from jungle beats to techno swings, to industrial grime to jazz fusion and everything in between. This tour will explore the groups long compilation of influential futuristic classics that include groundbreaking tracks such as “God O.D.”, “Drop”, “Helter Skelter”, “Radio Babylon”, “Edge of No Control” to “It’s The Music” and plenty more.
This tour will also introduce a five track EP of all-new material, for purchase at the merchandise table. With a new tour-only EP and these four performance dates to wet the palate, new music and potentially more live dates are on the horizon in 2017. More info hopefully to come.
