Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds have just shared their new song “Jesus Alone” along with accompanying video. The video features footage of the band performing the track. The footage is taken from Andrew Dominik’s film One More Time With Feeling. The track comes from their upcoming album Skeleton Tree set for release on September 9th.
One More Time With Feeling is Dominik’s 3D black and white feature film. It was originally a performance based project meant to accompany the album, but developed into more as Dominik became more in tune with the tragedy behind Cave’s writing. The writing behind Skeleton Tree is largely based on the death of Cave’s son. The film includes narration and improvised rumination by Cave. It has been selected to premiere at the 2016 Venice Film Festival.
The band’s 16th studio album will be released on vinyl, CD and all digital platforms. Watch the album trailer here.
