LCD Soundsystem Reportedly Cancel Asian Tour to Begin Work on New Album

LCD Soundsystem is known as the band from Brooklyn that is led by vocalist and songwriter James Murphy. They announced their retirement back in 2011, which lasted about five years. The group appeared on the main stage of this year’s Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.

The Reunion Tour of LCD Soundsystem started at Coachella back in April and will end this September in Ireland. As the reunion tour is dwindling down to the end they will appear at FYF Fest in Los Angeles this weekend, followed by Austin City Limits, and Mexico’s Corona Capital. Unfortunately the band won’t be able to go forth with the planned Asian and Australian tour at the end of the year due to working on their new album. Hong Kong’s Clockenflap Festival revealed that James Murphy’s group cancelled their scheduled appearance at the event so that the group could put in the time to hit the studio.

Back in February of this year the band officially came back for good and signed a new record deal with Columbia Records. The band promised that they would produce a new album in 2016, which would be their fourth album to come out. With dealing with the reunion tour they are expecting to need a couple extra months to finish the album.
