Dale Crover, the drummer of the Melvins, has now teamed up with Joyful Noise Recordings to create a 12-sided record called Skins. This is the first release of its kind. This unique artwork was hand made by lathe virtuoso Mike Dixon and has a limited 127 signed copies. Every record has six spindle holes that play twelve short songs written by Crover himself.
Since these songs are so short and Crover had the challenge of this unique format, he had to create individual pieces of music that mimicked haikus less than 30 seconds in length. This 12 sided record by Crover has become the foreshadowing for his upcoming full length album, estimated to release in 2017.
