Since putting out their latest record Bitter Rivals in 2013, New York noise pop duo Sleigh Bells have shared a number of new songs. In July, they released their new track “Hyper Dark,” which followed June’s “Rule Number One.” Last December, when they shared “Champions of Unrestricted Beauty,” the band tweeted, “We are finishing up our record, didn’t want to wait.”
That wait is now finally over. Fans can be happy to see what the culmination of the previous tracks was leading to, as Alexis Krauss and Derek E. Miller have announced their new record, Jessica Rabbit. It’s out November 11, 2017. The album includes both “Hyper Dark” and “Rule Number One,” but not “Champions of Unrestricted Beauty.”
Sleigh Bells are currently in the heat in a legal battle with Demi Lovato. Krauss and Miller have sued Lovato, UMG Recordings, and producers Carl Falk and Rami Yacoub for copyright infringement, claiming that Lovato sampled “Infinity Guitars” and “Riot Rhythm” (both off of the duo’s 2010 debut record Treats) on Lovato’s 2015 track “Stars” without permission.
