On the third night of after shows, Riot Fest really starts to, as the kids say, “hook it up”. Wednesday and Thursday offer acts that have reputations that precede them – in the best way possible. But you know, Wednesday and Thursday are the days when you feel like the work week is winding to a close and the weekend is creeping up to welcome you. Wednesday is when you start to amp it up for the weekend. And, you’re going to want to get amped for Riot Fest.
Dillinger Escape Plan, Basement, Citizen, Turnover, and Taking Back Sunday are a mix of current and early 2000s rock bands. Basement, Citizen, and Turnover are taking over the pop punk, Warped Tour scene by combining extremely meaningful lyrics and heavy breakdowns. Dillinger Escape Plan is notorious for recreating their musical approach and style, straying from their first appearance as a punk band for more of a progressive take. Taking Back Sunday is a staple of any fan of early 2000s rock. I mean, who didn’t listen to MakeDamnSure 903824282 times on their iPod nano back in the day?
Sadly, the Dillinger Escape Plan and Taking Back Sunday shows are already sold out. However, if you show up to the venues and press your ears to the brick walls, you may be able to slightly hear a guitar playing. The Basement, Citizen, and Turnover show still have tickets available though, so buy them now because they’re going fast! The shows are staggered so it might be possible to catch more than one set if you know your way around the city.
