Although he may be busy with directorial duties in creating grossly NSFW short-films, Flying Lotus seems to be keeping the music side of his franchise alive and well.
World famous eclectic producer Flying Lotus and legendary Parliament Funkadelic leader George Clinton have not known each other for a very long time, but once they were professionally acquainted, they’ve stuck to each other very deeply. After starring on the introductory track on Kendrick Lamar’s To Pimp a Butterfly “Wesley’s Theory,” the two formed supergroup WOKE along with Shabazz Palaces to collaborate on their Adult Swim series single “The Lavishments of Light Looking.”
After multiple collaborations, the two must have kept in touch, since George Clinton just announced that he will be releasing his next album on Lotus’ very on record label Brainfeeder. They made the announcement yesterday on Los Angeles radio station KCRW as well as on Lotus’ twitter.
