Jagwar Ma Announce New Album Every Now & Then For October 2016 Release And Share New Song “Give Me A Reason”

Jagwar Ma has announced the release of their new album, Every Now & Then. This second album will be released on October 14th, 2016 on the label, Marathon Artists. To get the audience excited for this upcoming album, the band has released the song “Give Me A Reason”.

The single starts with a slow beat to a fast groovy beat, as the seven minute track continues. Throughout, mixes of percussion and electronic beats repeat while the vocalist adds a series of echoing to the lyrics. When Stereogum asked the band to talk about the single, Gabriel Winterfield, the lead vocalist/guitarist of the group, had said “Yeah, it’s far out man. It’s like starting over. The first lyric is: “Now we’re back to the start,” because we were back in France, doing it again, giving it another crack. And towards the end, there’s that ‘other’ character — the amoeba thing I sing about. That’s pushing it!” The song is available on the band’s Soundcloud  and below.

Every Now & Then is an eleven track album that was recorded in two studios, La Brèche on the French countryside and Le Bunker in North London. Many musicians have contributed to the album’s recording like Stella Mozgawa, the drummer of Warpaint who also appeared on “OB1”, Ewan Pearson, a longtime mixer for the band, and James Ford, a producer who’s known for his work with Arctic Monkeys and HAIM.

Jono Ma, the guitarist of the band,  has said that the band has looked to the Beastie Boys for inspiration during recordings. He had told Stereogum ““It’s interesting — one record we went back to while making it was Paul’s Boutique,” he includes “The Dust Brothers work on that was immense, where they drew on little snippets from anywhere and mismatched things to create this tapestry, this mosaic of different sounds with different emotional reference points. That’s what was interesting to me.”
