Seu Jorge @ Faena Theater 11/4

Seu Jorge is bringing a very special concert to the Faena Theater on Friday, November 4th. It is called The Life Aquatic – A Tribute to David Bowie. He was a fan of David Bowie and when he translated some of his songs into Portugese he got praise from the man himself.

Seu Jorge is a Brazilian singer, songwriter and actor who currently lives in Los Angeles. His story is a true tale of succeeding against the odds and making the best out of a bad situation. He became homeless when he was 19 and stayed homeless for three years while he honed his musical style and ability. He gained fame in the favelas and was eventually able to make it out. He has had many critically acclaimed albums but the album that has inspired this concert is “The Life Aquatic Studio Sessions” which is a collection of acoustic portuguese translations of 14 Bowie songs and one original. The album was used in the soundtrack for the movie The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou. Take a listen to the full album below.

This concert will be very special as it will be held in the small and intimate Faena theater. Costumes and set pieces from the film will be used in the concert to be surrounded by the songs sung solo by Seu Jorge. If you are a fan of Bowie, Seu Jorge or just good music in general this is for you.
