Fans of the early Lollapalooza lineups will be stoked to hear of Jane’s Addiction’s 25th Anniversary show. Along with Jane’s Addiction, this concert will feature several 90’s alternative rock artists including The Cult, Garbage, Violent Femmes, as well as hip-hop group House of Pain. The show will be held on Friday, September 23rd at the Irvine Meadows Amphitheatre, the home of the first Lollapalooza festival in 1991.

Perry Farrell, Jane’s Addiction frontman and Lollapalooza creator, is not thrilled about the state of the festival today. The stage named after him has become EDM centric, prompting Farrell to tell the Chicago Tribute

“I hate EDM. I want to vomit it out of my nostrils. I can’t stand what it did to what I love, which is house music, which was meditative, psychedelic — it took you on a journey. … I sometimes cringe at my own festival.”
