WATCH: True Widow Share New Video For “Theurgist”

True Widow, the American rock band that originated in Dallas, Texas, has recently released a new music video for “Theurgist”. This new song comes from the band’s fourth album, Avvolgere, which is set to release on September 23.

The new music video comes after about a month since the release of the new single, Entheogen, from the album. Directed by Mats Ek, a filmer/editor, the video is mainly composed of scenes of the band performing the song, while scenes of the area are also included as the camera rotates. Through the crystallizing colors formed from the prisms and the serene tunes the second song from the upcoming album brings, the band intends on building a more enthusiastic mark, on its audience, for this new album than the release of Circumambulation in 2013. Watch the official music video below.

When asked about the story behind the music video, Dan Phillips, the guitarist/singer of True Widow, said “we invited our friend Mats Ek over from Sweden to make a couple of videos for the new record. We wanted this one to be pretty simple. Just us playing the song with no storyline.” He also added “As for making it something worth watching we wanted it to be psychedelic but in an organic way. We attached several prisms to the lens of the camera and put the camera on a spinning sculpture base. Mats took it home and lost his mind editing the footage with the instruction to make it as crazy as possible. He did good.” (Relapse Records)

As the band comes to complete the production of their new album, they have announced a US tour to dedicate the ten new songs created, including Theurgist.
