Acid Witch, Cosmic Dead, Tales of Murder & Dust, Highlands @ Reggie’s Rock Club 8/18

Who says Halloween can’t be in August? With this lineup of heavy metal and rock bands with consistent themes of death, gore, and Satanism, there won’t be a spookier show to see in Chicago this August. With all the bland indie bands cycling around, this refreshing take on metal is definitely dark but tons of fun to listen to.

Many people try to say that metal is dead, but by listening to any number of songs off of Witchtanic Hallucinations, Acid Witch’s debut album, or Peyote by Tales of Murder & Dust – it’s obvious that a new kind of experimental metal is alive and kicking. The inspiration that speaks to these bands ranges from psychedelic rock to horror movie soundtracks.

If you are looking to see a diverse gig and enjoy some killer hot wings while you’re at it, this show is the one for you. The show is 17+(to protect the youth from blatant Satanism and rock ‘n’ roll) and tickets are only $15 – which is unheard of for a lineup of four bands. You won’t want to miss all these guys melting faces with their guitar shredding and leather jackets.
