Purling Hiss Announces New Album High Bias For October 2016 Release

The garage-rock trio, Purling Hiss, has announced that they will release a new album, High Bias. The new album will be out October 14 via Drag City, following 2014’s Weirdon. The psychedelic rock project is that of the multi-instrumentalist Mike Polizze.

Last time we heard from Purling Hiss, they released their Something EP. Mike Polizze and now permanent member of Purling Hiss, has created a record that, according to Drag City, “moves with raging, dazed humor and soulfulness against the darkening times in which we find ourselves.

Along with the announcement of the album Purling Hiss released a new song, “Fever”. The song is the first from their new LP High Bias. The single is comparable to something in line of Weirdon. The song is full of tight guitars melted with fuzz, which is expected.

The album boasts eight tracks including the 11 minute 24 second runtime on “Everybody in the USA,” and the 1 minute 21 second runtime on “Notion Sickness.” The new single “Fever,” is in your face with riffs and drums that join together in a polished and pristine garage rock sound with the roughness you would expect. If they follow that path, the rest of the album is sure to be one to jam to with your headphones on.

Purling Hiss tackles bullshit the missing psych-rock and punk effects in today’s music. Have a listen to “Fever” below to see what has been absent.

High Bias is the sixth LP, recorded with bandmates Ben Leaphart on drums and Daniel Provenzano on bass. You can pre-order the album here, now! Also, check out the album artwork and tracklisting below.
