Indie Folk Rock enthusiast will definitely be excited for this new piece of news. Sam Beam and Jesca Hoop have once again teamed up to release a new song, “Milky Way.”
The song was recorded during the sessions for Love Letter for Fire, their latest collaborative album. In addition to recording “Milky Way,” the duo also recorded a cover of Eurythmics’ song “Love is a Stranger.”
“Milky Way” is a beautiful duet that is perfect for this these hot summer nights. It sits at just over three minutes long, but it’s so captivating that it could easily go on forever. Like most folk rock songs, it is introspective and pensive but it’s not as somber as some. In fact, towards the end of the song, the track becomes slightly more energetic.
Take a listen to the track below.
Sam Beam is better known under his stage name Iron & Wine, and has released six studio albums under the name of Iron & Wine. Jesca Hoop is a relative newcomer who also records indie folk rock songs, and has previously toured as a backing singer for Peter Gabriel’s New Blood tour.
