Swedish extreme tech-metal pioneers Meshuggah have announced the impending release of new album, The Violent Sleep For Reason. The release, the group’s first since 2012’s Koloss and eight overall, is due out October 7th via Nuclear Blast.
Through press release, Meshuggah claimed the Goya painting, “The Sleep Of Reason Produces Monsters”, inspired their new LP.
Acclaimed Danish metal producer and sound engineer Tue Madsen (The Haunted, Mnemic, Hatesphere), produced the entirety of the upcoming record. The band also enlisted go-to artist Keerych Luminokaya for the album’s cover artwork. Luminokaya also produced the artwork for Koloss and The Ophidian Trek, as well the entirety of the group’s box set 25 Years Of Musical Deviance.
Meshuggah’s lineup has not changed since 2001. The group’s member’s rarely contribute to other projects, and remain dedicated to the long-standing metal titan. Find their new album’s tracklist and cover art below.
