La Sera‘s Katy Goodman and Springtime Carnivore singer Greta Morgan have released another track of their upcoming newest album Take it, It’s Yours, which features 10-track collection of cover songs that the singers chose to re-invent. “Ever Fallen in Love”, originally by The Buzzcocks, is the third cover that the two singers have chosen to preview to the world, following the Guns Club “Sex Beat” cover and the “Bastards of Young” that originally was performed by the Replacements.

The new version of the song that the ladies decided to cover uses a more gentle tone, focusing more on slowing the original frantic song, and smoothing out all the rough edges that the Buzzcocks had, allowing for a more rolling melody. AV Club premiered the track on moonlit video, and stated “Where the Buzzcocks made a bad romantic pairing a cause worth shouting about, Goodman and Morgan emphasize the song’s heartbreak, bringing it to the forefront with a gently plucked guitar and some shimmering vocal harmonies.”

The video is very simple, it features both Katy and Greta with a pitch black background, as the song goes on there are several splicing of scene featuring flowers blooming and wilting, providing a deep, emotional, but eerie feel to the video.

Three out of the ten covers have now been released to the public, with the upcoming album less then a month away, this seems like the last preview track that the two singers will release. With such success on these first few, it looks like what is to come will be on the levels of greatness as it pertains to reviving old classics.
