Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Death From Above 1979, Deap Vally @ House of Blues 10/13

Even if you think you haven’t heard of Black Rebel Motorcycle Club before, chances are that you have. With a discography of seven full-length albums, their songs have been used in everything from Twilight movies to Sons of Anarchy. With a fuzzy rock sound that sounds like the lovechild of Jesus and the Mary Chain and the Velvet Underground, they are paving the way through the indie rock terrain that exists today. Each song simultaneously makes you want to dance and rock out.

Death From Above 1979 is a dynamic rock duo, Sebastien Grainger and Jesse Keeler. They formed in 2001, broke up in 2006, and came back to the relief of many in 2011. The sound they produce is a unique take on rock music, including generous use of synthesizers and having both members provide vocals. Along with this band, both guys have numerous side projects that are just as ambitious and interesting as Death From Above 1979.

The third band on the ticket is also a two-piece like the band described before, but instead of two guys rocking out, it’s two ambitious chicks. Julie Edwards hits the drums harder and better than a lot of her male counterparts in music and the harmonies they produce are enough to make the hair on your arms stand straight up. The style and arrangement of the band sounds like they were heavily influenced by bands like the White Stripes and the Black Keys – but somehow they are taking the idea of a two-person band to the next level.

You will not regret checking out these three amazing bands! The show is 17+ and tickets are starting at the low price of $28.50.
