Brian Wilson Releases New Live Album Brian Wilson and Friends

Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys has recently released a new live album that includes a slew of notable collaborations.

According to Wilson’s press release, the new album, Brian Wilson and Friends, is a collaboration between Wilson and BMG, and the PBS TV series Soundstage. It was recorded back in 2014 at the Venetian Theatre in Las Vegas, NV on December 12, 2014.

Initially this performance was broadcasted throughout 2015 as part of a fundraiser for PBS, and was exclusively released as a DVD and Blu-Ray for those donating to the fundraiser. Finally, however, it has now been released to the public.

Brian Wilson and Friends includes widely celebrated guest features and longtime partners. These guests include Al Jardine, Blondie Chaplin, Ricky Fataar, Nate Ruess of Fun., Kacey Musgraves, Mark Isham, Sebu Simonian, Capital Cities, Zooey Deschanel and M. Ward of the band She & Him.

The DVD version of Brian Wilson and Friends includes twenty-two songs, and the CD version includes nineteen tracks. The full track listing for both versions is listed down below.

According to Pitchfork, the new release features exclusive songs, behind-the-scenes footage and interviews.

In addition, Wilson’s press release stated that a memoir is in the works and will be released this October.
