For the first time since 2010, Nouvelle Vague announces a new album. The new EP will be titled, Athol Brose and is set to release on September 2 via Kawaidan Records.

Stereogum released the title-track on their website through Soundcloud, which is available below. Nouvelle Vague is cover band from France with the core members Marc Collin and Olivier Libaux. Nouvelle Vague’s past singer’s will also be featured in the band including, Camille, Phoebe Killdeer, Mélanie  Pain, and more. It is common for Nouvelle Vague to bring in a rotating cast of singers for their covers, and this new EP will bring in many of the same singers who worked on the last album in 2010. Marc Collin and Olivier Libaux started taking classic punk and new wave from the 80’s and 90’s back in 2004, and changed the music with a twist of “Brazilian Bossa Nova”. The band found success in this equation and managed to sell over a million copies of their first two albums Nouvelle Vague, and Bande à Part by 2006.

The band then went on an international tour, stopping at major cities all throughout the world such as Los Angeles, London, and Paris. After almost a 6 year break, Collin and Olivier have joined again to bring that unique sound that they have been associated with for so long. This new LP, Athol Brose, will bring that unique Nouvelle Vague sound with new chilling vocals against the Bossa Nova blend. Check out the album art and track-list below.
