WATCH: Flock Of Dimes Release New Video For “Semaphore”

Just a couple of weeks ago, Wye Oak’s Jenn Wasner announced a solo project under the name of Flock Of Dimes. Flock Of Dime’s first full-length album, If You See Me, Say Yes is set to release on September 23 via Partisan.

Flock Of Dime’s lead single “Semaphore” was just recently released, and we now have an accompanying video via Stereogum. The video has an awesome backdrop that serves as an array of different environments where Jenn sings that she’s, “too far gone for the semaphore”, or that she is incapable of communication with the world because she is stuck in her own thoughts and emotions.

The video was directed by Michael O’Leary and Ashley North Compton who added a lot of classic visual effects that expressed the meaning of the lyrics by Jenn. The directors spoke on the video, “We wanted to present the tension of reaching out and not being able to touch. Fleeting communication with an outside world, felt but not seen, and Jenn’s interaction with her own double, create a hallucinatory sense of limbo. It creates a solitary confinement, wherein no matter how partnered or joined we find ourselves, those selves, our own best and worst companions, are all we have”. Check out the new video below.
