Pfarmers, the musical supergroup comprised of Danny Seim of Menomena, Bryan Devendorf of The National’s, and St.Vincent’s Dave Nelson, whose debut album Gunnera was released just last year, have announced that they will be releasing a brand new studio album to follow-up the first. Our Puram will hit the public on August 12th, and released via Joyful Noise, this album is a collection of 8 new tracks that the group have been tirelessly working on in the last year.
According to Pitchfork, the new LP was written whil Seim was in the process of moving from Portland to Louiville, drawing inspiration from the Rajneeshpuram community of the 80’s (which followed the spiritual teachings of Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh, later known as Osho).
Along with the announcement of a new album, the group has also shared a single off the upcoming LP. “Red Vermin” is exactly what you would expect from this trio of talented musicians – mind blowing guitar rifts, insane synthesizers, masterful piano, and a horn line that will make you melt. The new single is a fantastic preview of the work yet to come.
No tour dates have been listed yet for the group, however with their growing popularity and new album on the horizon, a tour would not be something unexpected to follow.
