First appearing on the music scene in the late 70s, Elvis Costello has made sure that he’s not a name to be forgotten. While he has performed with various groups throughout the decades, a couple of things have remained the same. The tunes are still catchy, the guitar parts still wildly original, and his voice is in tip-top shape. No matter what band he’s got by his side, there’s a tradition of making the live shows incredible.
The latest studio record, Unfaithful Music and Soundtrack Album, was released last year to pair his autobiography. In the ever popular single, I Want You, Elvis’ crooning gives the impression of a man in despair and sorrow. But at the same time, there is a resignation; a white flag waving. Some songs will break your heart; others will just make you want to dance to the infectious rhythms.
The pairing of the Chicago Theatre with Elvis Costello & The Imposters gives a perfect sense of nostalgia and a prolific show that shouldn’t be missed. He plans on putting a new twist on songs from Imperial Bedrooms, originally released in 1982. Ticket prices start in the neighborhood of $40 and go on sale on July 22nd, 2016 at 10:00 AM CDT.
