EMP’s latest roster addition, Hail Sagan has released a video for their single “Dark Cloud.” The clip has received over 80,000 views on Youtube, showing promise for the young group. Additionally, since the release of the video, Sagan’s fanbase has expanded to over 125,000 followers across social media platforms. “Dark Cloud” will be included on Sagan’s self-titled debut EP, which will be released in the Fall of 2016 via EMP Label Group. Preorders will be available in late July.
The heartbreaking video deals with the ongoing issue of bullying in its various forms – violence, sexual assault, and domestic abuse. In a press release, lead singer Sagan Amery discussed the track.
It’s been a great experience being able to broach the subject of bullying and abuse with the lyrics of this song. We took it one step further and created a video with director Matthew Crum and DP Kenny Keeler that visually enhanced the sensitive subject matter. We chose to mask the members of the band in an effort to show the world that anyone can be a part of this, you never know who will be under there, maybe even a fan or someone who needs music to save them.”
A relatively new band, Hail Sagan remains enigmatic to many fans. The hard rock group is led by Sagan Amery, however, the identities of the other band members are unknown. The two guitarists and the drummer have been donning devil masks, leaving their identities a mystery. Rumors have circulated that Powerman 5000’s Nick Quijano and Andrew Weissberg are Sagan’s guitarists, but these claims have yet to be verified.
